Deschutes River, Oregon - Fishing Report - February 18, 2017
There is a lot of snow and that is limiting access to the lower river. It looks like this might
last for another week. The stream levels are a little too high to wade safely but would be
fine for a drift boat. Midges are the main insects you would need to be imitating - Reds
and Creams. Fish the larva and pupa in tandem for the best results.

Remember, there is a big difference in the lower and upper rivers as far as
hatch times are concerned. Brown sculpin and White Belly Sculpin are two of the very
best flies to use during the entire year.
Various species of Blue-winged olives will hatch mostly on cloudy days.
Midges are hatching.
Winter stoneflies are hatching.
