McKenzie River Fishing Report - February 17, 2019
The stream levels down a little below normal levels and the water in good shape.
There are still some hatches taking place and decent numbers of trout being
caught above and below the lake. Steelhead are still being caught below the
dam. The river is being stocked good.

Trout:
The Brown Sculpin, Articulated sculpin streamers, and White Belly Sculpin are good
flies to use during the entire year. .
Mahogany duns are hatching.
Aquatic worms are working good.
Winter stoneflies are starting to hatch.
It is almost alway best to fish a tandem Midge rig under a small strike indicator with the
midge lava as the bottom fly and the midge pupa as the top fly. Fish the adult midge
only when you observe trout feeding on the surface.
