South Holston River, Tennessee - Fishing Report -

They are running one all day today and none all day tomorrow. You waders better take
advantage of that tomorrow if possible. There are still some good hatches taking place
and our customers are still catching good numbers of trout. The Little Sister caddis
have been hatching very good.
7 Day Weather Forecast: There is a chance of rain everyday through Friday, then
clearing. Highs will be 85 to 87 and lows from 65 to 70 degrees.
Recommended Trout Flies:

Brown Sculpin and White Belly Sculpin, size 6
Midges: Blood (Red), sizes 20/22, larva, pupa and adults
Midges: Light Green, size 20/22, larva, pupa and adults

Strategies, Techniques and Tips:
Be sure to check the TVA release schedule shown above. If no turbines are running,
you can wade the stream. If one is running, you can wade the stream in places but
floating it would be the preferred method.
Hatches of various species of Blue-winged Olives are possible in the afternoons and
more likely and in greater quantities if the skies are cloudy or overcast.
Fish the Brown Sculpin and White Belly Sculpin streamers anytime.
Cinnamon Caddis are hatching
Little Sister Caddis are hatching.
Green Sedges, or caddisflies, are hatching.
True Sulphurs are starting to hatch.
Midges are still hatching.
Terrestrials are starting to work, Japanese Beetles, Carpenter ants and hoppers.
