The discharge schedule shows they will be running one all day today. There has been
a lot of rain and the lake is a little high, so the discharges are likely to be strong for a
day or two, or more. Our customers have been catching good numbers of trout. There
are Eastern Pale Evening dun hatches (called Sulphurs) taking place as well as
Blue-winged olives. Stream Conditions:
7 Day Weather Forecast: There is a chance of rain Thursday and Friday and
Sunday and Monday, otherwise clear. Highs will be 81 to 86 and lows from 54 to 63
Recommended Trout Flies:
Blue-winged Olives: size 20/18 nymph, emergers, duns and spinners
Brown Sculpin and White Belly Sculpin, size 6
Midges: Blood (Red), sizes 20/22, larva, pupa and adults
Midges: Light Green, size 20/22, larva, pupa and adults
Midges: Cream, size 20/22, larva pupa and adults
Little Black Caddis, size 18, pupa and adults
Eastern Pale Evening Duns, (called Sulphurs) size 14, nymphs, emergers, duns and spinners
Strategies, Techniques and Tips:
Be sure to check the TVA release schedule shown above. If no turbines are running,
you can wade the stream. If one is running, you can wade the stream in places but
floating it would be the preferred method.
Hatches of various species of Blue-winged Olives are possible in the afternoons and
more likely and in greater quantities if the skies are cloudy or overcast.
Fish the Brown Sculpin and White Belly Sculpin streamers anytime.

Eastern Pale Evening Duns, called Sulphurs by locals, are hatching. .
Midges are hatching and will become more and more important as the water gets colder.
