The water temperature varies some depending on the stream section but there is
some bank and slush ice in some areas.. There are some good Midge and winter
stonefly hatches taking place. Black flies are also hatching.

Recommended Trout Flies:
Brown Sculpin and White Belly Sculpin and articulated sculpin, size 6
Black Matuka and Olive Matuka Sculpin, size 4/6
Blue-winged Olives: size 18/16 nymphs, emergers, duns and spinners
Aquatic Worms, size 12, pink, red, and others.
Winter stoneflies: 16/18, nymphs, adults
Midges: Blood (Red), sizes 22, larva, pupa and adults
Midges: Light Green, size 22, larva, pupa and adults
Midges: Cream, size 22, larva, pupa and adults
Black Flies, size 20/22, larva, pupa, adults
Strategies, Techniques and Tips:
Our Brown Sculpin and White Belly sculpin are great flies for the entire fall and winter seasons.
The Olive Matuka Sculpin and Black Matuka Sculpin are good flies to use at this time.
Blue-winged olives are hatching.
Midges are hatching.

Aquatic worms are working.
Black flies are hatching.
We still think a good strategy is fishing a tandem Midge rig under a small strike indicator with the midge
lava as the bottom fly and the midge pupa as the top fly. Fish the adult midge only when you observe trout
feeding on the surface.
