The Hendrickson is the female of the Ephemerella subvaria species and the Red Qull is the male. The two are a different color and size. Trout can be taken on all stages of life of this mayfly. The spinner fall is the highlight of the hatch. Male and female spinners are also a different color. The is the most popular hatch in the East.
