The common grass hopper is an
important food for trout most anywhere
but especially in streams that flow
through open meadows with lots of
grass. Imitations work well during the
summer and early fall when most
aquatic insect hatches are few and far
between. Most of them are green, but
brown, tan, and yellow ones are also
plentiful along most trout streams.
