North Fork of the White River Arizona Fly Fishing Guide - Gear,
Tackle and Flies
Fly Line:
We recommend either a 3, or 4 weight fly line for the North fork of the White River in Arizona.
You only need floating fly lines.

Fly Rod:
We recommend either a 3 or 4 weight fly rod for whichever line size you use. The 3 and 4
weight fly rods should in a medium to medium fast action and a 8 to 9 foot length.

Fly Reel:
The fly reel used should be for each of the 3 or 4 weight lines you use and each have a very
good drag. We prefer disc drags but there are other types that will work as well.

Leaders:
Leaders should size 2X to 6X and be from 9 to 12 feet long.

Tippet:
You should have spare tippet in 2X and 6X. Some anglers prefer fluorocarbon but mono is
fine.

Waders:
Waders are necessary on the White River. Hip waders or wet wading may work for you
during the Summer.

Wading Boots:
Wading boots will be needed.
